Early Life and Career Beginnings
Born in the picturesque town of Mavelikara, Alappuzha, Kerala, in 1956, Samraj's journey began with a childhood fascination for magic. After completing his civil engineering studies, he moved to the Middle East, where he worked as a quantity surveyor for prestigious companies such as Dubai Overseas Ast. Co. and D.G. Jones & Partners. However, his passion for magic never waned. While in the Gulf, he honed his skills, practising tirelessly and drawing inspiration from magicians worldwide. This period marked the foundation of his magical career as he connected with esteemed magicians from Europe, the United States, Japan, Norway, and Germany, mastering cutting-edge techniques and enriching his repertoire.
The Transition to a Full-Time Magician
In 1996, Samraj made the life-changing decision to return to India, leaving behind a successful engineering career to pursue his true calling. He established the "Samraj World of Magic," a 35-member troupe that became one of the biggest magic troupes in India. With a blend of elegance, innovation and dramatic flair, Samraj's performances elevated Indian magic to international standards, earning him widespread acclaim. His unique approach and dedication also earned him the distinction of being the first to introduce "Horror Magic" to Indian audiences, showcasing his bold and visionary artistry.
International magic conventions Manthra-1 (2016) Manthra-2 (2023) were conducted with participation of about 1000 delegates from about 22 countries all over the world, which was a turning point in the Indian magic.

Samraj's illustrious career has been adorned with numerous accolades, the most notable being the prestigious *Merlin Award*—often referred to as the "Oscar of Magic"—presented by the International Magic Society.
