Magician P.M. Mithra was born at Melukavumattom in Kottayam district Kerala state. He was attracted to magic when he happened to see a magic show during his school days. On 1972 he started to learn magic. The long years of intense studying and interacting with renowned magicians the world over, had helped him acquire a great deal of knowledge in Magic, Psychology and Hypnotism.
Magician P.M. Mithra formed a Magic troupe known as "Mayajal" in 1982, which was a turning point in his life. He selected magic as his career and profession. This great magician has performed Mayajal on more than 6000 stages in India and abroad.
The Mega Mayajal troupe consists of his wife Ansa and 25 other artists. The show is packed with dozens of mind-boggling illusions, eye-catching dances, futuristic music, psychedelic lighting and much more. The major illusions are Houdini escape, Canon mystery, Bed of arrows, Flying lady, Robot mystery, Grill box mystery, Bullet catching, Elastic lady, Visual cutting, Long and short illusion, Propeller escape, Artists dream, Three box mystery, Space fantasy etc. etc.
Magician P.M. Mithra is an active member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (U.S.A) and several Indian and foreign Magic clubs. He is also an honorary Rotary member and the chapter member of Lions Club and the chapter member of Indian Junior Chamber. He has been honored with nine prominent awards from India and Abroad.

The following are some of the major events, which were performed by magician P.M. Mithra in Open Air Grounds taking thousands of spectators to the breathtaking world of dreams and illusions
THE GREAT FIRE ESCAPE ACT
Organizers: Citizens of Kottayam
Date: 16--12—1998
Magician P.M. Mithra created history on 16, December 1998 at Kottayam. He presented the Great Fire Escape Act, the amazing and thrilling act before the invited Guests and over one-lakh spectators. Kottayam Crime Branch Police Superintendent Sri. Vasudeva Menon handcuffed the magician and he was tied with a steel chain of 75 feet length. The chain was locked with 51 Godrej locks by a group of 51 VIP's consisting of MPs, MLAs, IAS and IPS officers. The Magician was then placed in a fiberglass box and the box was also sealed using a steel chain. A crane was used for lifting the box. The box was placed in a 20 feet haystack. The VIP audience then put the haystack to fire. Exactly after 59 seconds magician got rid off the chains, locks, handcuff, fiberglass box and escaped out of the burning haystack with a victorious smile. Media including the newspaper and T.V. gave great coverage to this dangerous and risky adventure.
The major significance of this great programme was that the handcuff, chains, locks and the fiberglass box were supplied by the public and not made by the magician. This type of a thrilling and adventurous programme is the first of its kind in Asia.
THE GREAT SPIKE ESCAPE

Magician P.M. Mithra presented the Great Spike Escape, which attracted thousands of spectators in Pathanamthitta. Media gave great coverage to this breathtaking event.
BLINDFOLD JEEP DRIVE
Organizers: Lions Club of Capital City
Date: 22--03--2001
Srilankan Police Officers had covered the eyes of Magician P.M. Mithra. The talented Magician drove a Jeep through the busy main streets of Colombo city. This event was Spectacular and won the attention of Srilankan people as it was placed as headlines by the media.
CAR VANISHING
Organizers: Madurai Vision
Date: 17--01--2001.
Magician P.M. Mithra counts One, Two and Three; a Maruthi Car vanished from the stage, which was attended by a huge crowd. Media gave good report to this unique magic performance.
PROPELLER ESCAPE
Organizers: Beacon
Date: 30--12--2002.
The jam packed KPS Menon Hall Kottayam witnessed a gigantic wonder event by this great magician. He passed through the leaves of a rotating heavy-duty giant fan, four feet in diameter. This modern event has got great coverage through press and media.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Magician P.M. Mithra has dedicated his life to the cause of the glory and development of the science and art of magic. He is considered as the role model by the new generations of magicians. He has founded a magic research and development centre in his hometown for the promotion of magic and allied arts.
The centre provides all sorts of training and help to the newcomers who are interested in magic in developing their talents to become expert magicians. The R & D centre is fully equipped with a very good library on the art and science of magic, an excellent computerized audio-video infrastructure and perfectly designed tools and equipments for magic.
SOCIAL COMMITMENT
Magician P.M. Mithra has also succeeded in using magic as an effective media to foster national unity and communal harmony. Special items on National Unity and Communal Harmony are presented on the stage in each programme. This excellent programme gives the community great enjoyment besides employment opportunities to 30 educated youths.
Great efforts are taken by the magician to eliminate the superstitions prevailing in the society and for spreading the real message of World Peace and Universal Brotherhood.
